Pride and Pudding by Regula Ysewijn
I recently discovered a discontinued British food blog run by Belgium national Regula Ysewign. If you're not aware, Ysewign is a foodie writer/historian/photographer who focuses primarily on British cuisine. She has appeared on the Belgian version of Great British Bake Off and in August 2024, Regula was appointed an honorary member of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire, in recognition of her outstanding contributions to British food and culture.
What drew me to Ysewign's blog, was the discovery of her first book, entitled Pride And Pudding: The History Of British Puddings, Savoury And Sweet. While I have yet to get my hands on a copy, when I do, I am sure I will spend an ample amount of time perusing the 80-ish British pudding recipes that Ysewign has pulled from as far back as Roman times, and updated for today's tastes and ingredients.
In the meantime, please let me know if you've had the chance to rifle through these pages and if so, have you tried any of the recipes?
