Why Bites from Britian?
I am a second-generation Canadian with British parents who came to canada in the late 1960s. My mom in particular held onto her British food roots, with regular shopping trips to our local M&S (yes, M&S used to be in Canada!!) as well as a handful of UK specialty shops that were scattered here and there. Failing that, my mom would stock up her suitcase when coming back from family visits in England, bringing back a selection of precious items that she couldn't find in Canada.
My mom cooked and baked many British goodies that I still love today: Yorkshire pudding, scones, almond slices, millionaire shortbread, steamed puddings, brandy snaps....I could go on and on!
Now that my mom is no longer here and I have kids of my own, I started looking for the items I loved as a kid, and would go through multiple Google searches trying to figure out where I could go to buy or order certain UK products.
With Bites from Britian, I decided to bring all of these shops onto one page to hopefully make this type of search a little bit easier. It continues to be a fun project that is growing by the day!
